Preacher: Pastor M Mukosi | I equate the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt (the house of bondage) to the promised land of Canaan with salvation from sin to the kingdom of heaven. There are many promises which we should enjoy when we are saved. Just as the children of Israel were challenged from their inheritance, we too shall be challenged. The enemy will fight all he can to stop us from enjoying what God has in store for us. But we have to take our inheritance by force.
Matthew 11:12 (AMP)
12And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize–a [I]share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].
Deuteronomy 8:7-9,18 (AMP)
7For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; 8A land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey; 9A land in which you shall eat food without shortage and lack nothing in it; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper.
18But you shall [earnestly] remember the Lord your God, for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
God is taking us into a land that flows with milk and honey – a land of plenty where we shall lack nothing. It is a land full of healing, protection, prosperity and success.
2 Peter 1:4 | NIV
4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
Joshua 1:3 | KJV
3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
2 Corinthians 1:18-22 | NIV
18 But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.” 19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” 20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. 21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
2 Corinthians 1:22 TLB
He has put his brand upon us—his mark of ownership—and given us his Holy Spirit in our hearts as guarantee that we belong to him and as the first instalment of all that he is going to give us.
Numbers 23:19 | NIV
19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?
Jeremiah 1:11-12 | MSG
11 God’s Message came to me: “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said, “A walking stick—that’s all.”12 And God said, “Good eyes! I’m sticking with you. I’ll make every word I give you come true.”
Isaiah 55:10-11 TLB
As the rain and snow come down from heaven and stay upon the ground to water the earth and cause the grain to grow and to produce seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry, so also is my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to and prosper everywhere I send it.
Joshua experienced and testified that not even one of the Lord’s promises failed – all were fulfilled
Joshua 21:45 NIV
Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
Joshua 23:14 NIV
Now I am about to go the way of all the earth. You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.
What is destroying people is not that God has not made provision for our challenges- but people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Hosea 4:6a | KJV
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge……
Once you know what God has promised, believe it.
There are so many promises that God has made- but you can only benefit from those you know and believe.
